Scotch whisky distilleries began to notice the existence of sherry casks and were fortunate enough to use sherry casks for cask ageing, first and foremost thanks to the UK's leading position in sherry consumption and as a sherry trade node.

It has become one of the most important imported wines in the UK.

The winery will use the barrels as the vehicle to transport the sherry from Spain to the UK.
