This is NOT my fix and i do NOT take any credit for it. I forgot who told me about it, but I wanted to share it with you guys so hopefully it helps someone who was having the same problems i was. If you're using PBO manager like me, You may have noticed that after you repack your server pbo and try to run it, your gsme wont load or you'll be stuck at wait for host. The probem is that after you repack your server PBO, PBO manager isn't adding the prefixes from the original PBO to the new PBO, To fox this it's simple, Repack your pbo after your done editing it. Double click the PBO so it opens it up in PBO msnsger. Don't extract it. Click the PBO once, to highlithgt it. Click the blue gear icon about your PBO. Right click, and add the require prefixes. They're usually mikero///////Depbo.dll pboprefix\\\\\\\\ z\addons\dayz_server prefix\\\\\\\\\\ z\addons\dayz_server Hope this helps!
the best way i find is not to run the pbo manager itself but to right click on the pbo file then select PBO manager from right click menu the select extract to dayz_server\ (or what ever the pbo is called)
When repacking again what i do is right click on the dayz_server folder (or what ever folder you extracted the pbo to) select pbo manager from right click menu and then select Pack into "dayz_server.pbo" (again depends on folder name). This stopped all errors for me and when checking the files the $MIKERO$ and $PREFIX$ files where intact, hope this helps
For me..sometimes it will repackage with the prefixes...alot of times i have to manually add them... it's a strange tool but i guess it works lol. So then out of curiosity, what are the prefixes/prefix files actually doing?
if you want new Taviana , download yourself Origins mod : dayzorigins.com , newest version is 1.7.6 of mod, there you have new Taviana, Taviana island is part of DayZ Origins mod so you can play Origins mod (survival gameplay) or state servers yourself when people downloaded Origins packs,
There is a pastebin'ed legal notice (a few pages back in this thread) that was sent to someone who tried to use a newer version of the Taviana map (taken from the dayzorigins.com download) in their own project. The .pbo's also used to contain fairly stern warnings about using the content in any other works, too. (I haven't looked at them since they removed IceWindo's content though, so perhaps that has changed).
if someone is "moder" and want to pack it, put payed-server (as dayz "mods" do) and collect money , when someone want to zip it and put pay-to-download link (like worldzombie.ru did that you had to pay 250 Rubels to download Taviana) or like other mods do that they pack your addon and put "donation" button - it can meet legal action, because abuses over addons which actually happens within dayz and moneymaking on other people addons is something which forces authors to take legal actions in worst cases ,
Armaholic hosts version 1.0 which Martin published, now Taviana is 3.1 or 3.2 and it is published by him only on gamersplatoon.com in Origins mod 1.7.8 (but mod is multiplayer and you must delete dayz files to run it as singleplayer )
noone keeps Taviana as secret file ;) it is free and can be downloaded, just Martin put it into archive of whole mod, like Nogova is part of CWR2 or Vietnam jungle is part of Unsung (and good, if those islands from CWR or Unsung were released separately , you would have "dayz" servers charging for gameplay on those islands) :)
this is where Martin now is active , just download archive, delete useless files (that disable singleplayer and all editor - basically copy and paste on your own disc Tavi and Taviana.PBO files , you won't break any "rules" of addons, cause you use it on your PC and not "redistribute it" (repack it under other nicks etc) or not hold server on it, so in your home , simply download archive, take files and use them as before) 2b1af7f3a8
