In transitioning the choreography from the paper you have memorized in your brain to out of your mouth in front of your class, I would caution that there are some tricky holds in the chest track (track 3) that you want to pay special attention to before you teach or when you return to this release. I found that it was hard to catch the first few times and this was consistent in taking classes from others as well.
I had to watch the ab track a few times but appreciated the unconventional choreography. If you are a booklet learner like me, I would suggest watching this track to understand how to cue this smoothly for participants.
There is discussion on Wikipedia:Categories for discussion/Log/2008 January 11 of the categories for ABT and NYCB dancers and Ballets Russes (and Ballet Russe de Monte Carlo) choreographers. It is proposed that these categories be deleted! One may post a comment there. Robert Greer (talk) 11:30, 14 January 2008 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Could somebody take a look at American traditional informal freeform solo folk dancing? It looks like a lot of original research. Little Red Riding Hoodtalk 01:30, 12 December 2008 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Can anybody explain the difference between dances and dance styles as categories? I am asking because I'd like to make dance-oriented music genres easy to find under "music". Please post me if there's an answer. Thanks. Redheylin (talk) 19:00, 14 April 2009 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Hi... I think this article is very interesting, because it talks about the most beautiful dance in the world.Ballet´s history had past for a lot of periods and changes around the world. All that changes have created three ballet styles: classical, neoclassical and contemporary. It´s considerate an art esenical. If you want to dance ballet you need to have a body control, because the movements are base in flexibility.I think, that ballet practice could be difficult, but maybe is a very good experience accompany with a lot of fun...so, What are you waiting to start practicing ballet???--22.214.171.124 (talk) 02:55, 27 June 2009 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Why not add a chapter in each dance article about description of the dance moves ? For example, for Salsa, descriptions of Enchufla or Copa or Cross body lead, etc could be added. It is possible to give a detailed description (in tableform) with footpositions, timing, body direction etc. Marc1956 (talk) 21:43, 1 January 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]
There has been a recent dispute regarding the addition of links to Jacob's Pillow Dance Interactive in the external links section of articles, as posted by both myself Dammersk lrq2102. Links to this website were added to pages specific to the dancers, choreographer or musician as seen in the linked video. Dance Interactive is a new archival resource containing short clips of dance performance videos available at Jacob's Pillow in Becket, MA. The links were posted in an effort to share this rare, archival footage with the greater community and to sponsor a greater interest in dance overall. However, these links were removed by editors who claimed that they violated Wikipedia's policies concerning promotional material and use of the site as a "soapbox". With this added understanding of the links and their scholarly purpose, might these links be allowed? Or perhaps might they be added in a way that does not violate the above mentioned policies? Might it be better to post with the revised title concerning just the artist and date? Example: Alvin Ailey (Recorded 1988). Thank You, Dammersk (talk) 22:56, 5 July 2011 (UTC)Reply[reply] 2b1af7f3a8
